ABOUT

Get ready to laugh out loud with an evening of great comedy as Avalon presents The Comedy Network. Avalon presents the biggest stars of tomorrow … today! June’s line-up includes the fastest-rising comedian Sara Barron, the unique and memorable Joey Page and semi-finalist in So You Think You’re Funny?  Kieran James Boyd.

Sara Barron is one of the fastest-rising comedians of her generation. Since her 2018 debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, she’s starred on shows including Live at the Apollo (BBC), Would I Lie to You? (BBC) and Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC).

Joey Page has spent the last few years bouncing around the comedy circuit supporting the likes of Josie Long and Noel Fielding and appearing on shows such as BBC 3’s Comedy Marathon, Nevermind the Buzzcocks and Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy. He did have a childhood dream to become a wrestler, dinosaur, or spaceman but luckily has settled on becoming a stand-up comedian. Joey boasts an extraordinary brand of highly original and surreally silly comedy. Joey always takes audiences on magical flight of fancy away from the humdrum of the everyday grind. Joey has an excitable yet likeable personality and he has been described as ‘one of most unique and memorable rising stars in the business’.

Semi-finalist in So You Think You’re Funny?, Amused Moose Laugh-Off, and part of Fringe favourites WitTank, Kieran James Boyd has been performing his inventive, high-energy stand up across the country for five years. He gigs for Avalon, CKP, The Stand, Komedia, and Highlight amongst others as well as numerous shows at the Edinburgh Festival. In 2020 he supported Ed Byrne and Ed Gamble on tour. He has compered the stand-up showcase, Comedy Baby, and performed in the split show Don’t Mess. He has also directed a sketch show from The Leeds Tealights. Kieran performed at the Edinburgh Festival as part of The Comedy Zone, the Fringe’s longest running and most prestigious stand-up showcase. He took his debut solo show Egg up to the fringe to great acclaim. He has since taken his show Crashing the Party to the fringe, receiving further praise from audiences and critics.
