Acoustic Guitar Classes

Saturdays from 12.25pm 

Tutor Mark Orchin offers acoustic guitar classes for those who have already started to learn the instrument (over 16s) and can play the basic chords and tune up. In the classes you will be able  to develop your strumming and picking techniques, learn to read tablature, follow chord charts and a music score. A variety of styles are covered from folk, pop, blues and some jazz – places are limited so please contact the box office for more information – you will need your own instrument.

Ukulele Lessons


With experienced teacher and performer Mark Orchin.

Beginners Class 9.45am - A new starters class for over 16s and adults where you will learn how to play chords, accompany songs, tune up and play in a small group. 

Intermediate Class 10.40am - For those who have continued from the previous beginners class and players who can follow a chord chart and play some simple melodies. 

Improvers Class - 11.30am A class is for players who wish to extend their skills considerably and covers more advanced techniques and styles.

Intermediate Class 2.45pm- For those who have continued from the previous beginners class and players who can follow a chord chart and play some simple melodies. This group uses charts, notation and tablature.

Tutor Mark Orchin has been running these successful classes at the Hawth now for 2½ years. Mark is a very experienced teacher and performer and plays with popular Folk Rock band Touchstone who have played at the Hawth for many years as part of the folk festivals and other events.

Life Drawing re-starting in November

Mondays 6.30-8.30pm

Wednesdays 10am-12noon

Rachel Cowell offers Life Drawing sessions focused on learning and experimenting with new materials and gaining more skills for people regardless of ability or previous experience. Suitable 16+.

Papercraft with Natalie O’Shea

Saturday 10 October, 7 November, 5 December 2pm-4pm

Join Natalie O'Shea to make a minimum of three beautiful handmade cards. Learn techniques, fancy folds and more and be thrilled with what you have created. Everything is provided in the class. This is a fun, relaxed class suitable for beginner crafters or the more experienced. Projects taught at each class are different each month.

Improv Comedy Workshop - cancelled

Every 2nd Tuesday from 5 May 7.45pm in The Hawth’s Shelley Room.

Learn how to perform improvisational theatre in a friendly and supportive environment whilst having lots of fun!

The two-hour workshops consist of playful exercises and games which will develop teamwork and listening skills to enable you to collaboratively create entertaining sketches, dramatic scenes, characters and stories as a group. Every class is something completely different and exciting!

The workshops will be led by Ed Pithie, founder of Dingbats Improv, who has been teaching improv for over 6 years. Open to anyone over 17, no experience necessary. Further details:

Tuesdays 7.30-8.30pm and Fridays 6-7pm

Move With Peppa

Fridays (term time)

The popular, pre-school dance, music and movement sessions for children aged 18 months to 5 years old are created using the stories from the award-winning episodes. Parents and children can enjoy the fun and joy of learning and moving together in a 45-minute class are designed to build motivation, physical confidence, coordination, balance and agility within the wonderful and exciting world of Peppa.

Busylizzy operates a timetable of antenatal fitness, postnatal fitness that you can bring your baby to, and baby classes across Horsham and Crawley. It also offers a community of like-minded mums to hang out with, with regular social events and workshops on relevant themes.

Pregnancy classes include Yoga, Pilates and a strength and cardio session called Vibe. Postnatal fitness sessions include Yoga & Pilates, as well as Aerobics dance fitness, Bootcamp and Buggy Fitness. Meanwhile, your baby can enjoy massage, baby yoga, music and movement, learn to sign or even do arts & crafts.

Membership is super flexible, allowing you to attend classes when it suits you - booking via the app up to 30 mins before classes start, or cancelling up to 2 hours beforehand if something comes up or you just don't fancy it!
