Life Drawing Sessions

Mondays 6:30 - 8:30pm & Wednesdays 10am - 12noon 
An informal class of drawing the human form. A great way to learn and improve skills in a bright and comfortable setting. Please bring your own drawing materials. 
Rachel Cowell (Ginger moo) will be offering five Life Drawing sessions in The Loft focused on learning and experimenting with new materials and gaining more skills for people regardless of ability or previous experience. Ages 16+

Life Drawing Day 

Saturday 10 February 10am - 4pm 
An informal class of drawing the human form in a bright comfortable setting. Rachel Cowell from Ginger Moo offers a day session focused on learning new skills and experimenting with different media. Regardless of ability or previous experience, each participant is positively encouraged. Please bring your own materials. Ages 16yrs+

Papercraft Workshops

Saturdays, 17 February, 17 March & 28 April, 1pm - 5pm
Come and join Natalie to make a fabulous handmade greeting cards. If you thought you weren’t artistic, then Natalie will show you how easy it is to make personalised cards whether you think you are crafty or not. 4 hour sessions with all materials provided.

Creative Writing Workshop: Writing Stories for Magazines

Wednesdays 2pm - 4pm 10, 17, 24 January and 7,14, 21 February
A six-week course marking the Hawth’s 30th anniversary.

Have you always wanted to find the time to write? Do you love words and feel you’ve got stories inside you? This course will give you lots of writing practice, and teach you a wide range of techniques.
We’ll work towards producing a collection of stories ready for the theatre’s 30th anniversary celebrations, drawing inspiration from the place, its people and its history.
And don’t worry - there'll be lots of help in getting your story ‘polished up’ ready for publication on the website. Alison Carter's stories and serials appear at least weekly in UK magazines, and she teaches the craft across the south of England.

Ukulele Lessons with Mark Orchin

Saturdays, 6 & 20 January, 3 & 17 February, 17 & 24 March 
Learn the basics of the instrument, how to play in a group and have fun on Saturdays 10am - 10.40am (beginners),10.40am - 11.20am (continuing beginners), and 11.25am - 12.15am (improvers).
Our instructor, Mark Orchin, has a wealth of experience in teaching people of all ages and abilities as well as performing in bands including Touchstone.
Suitable ages 16+.

Harmonica Beginners Workshop

Sat 13 January, 10am - 2.50pm

Is your New Year’s resolution to learn a new muscial skill? Learn to play the harmonica! By the end of this one-day workshop, you'll be able to play a simple tune, do a train impression, and improvise your first blues solo. This workshop is suitable for all interested participants – no prior experience is necessary, but you will need to bring a 10-hole harmonica in C.
