The Adventures of Peter Rabbit

Sat 22 August 2026

About the show

To mark 160 years since the birth of Beatrix Potter the Hazlitt Theatre, Parkwood Theatres and Maidstone Borough Council are delighted to present The Adventures of Peter Rabbit in The Hawth Amphitheatre.

After one too many visits to Mr. McGregor’s garden, can Peter Rabbit, Benjamin and Cotton Tail, evade him and his sneaky sidekicks Mr. Tod and Tommy Brook, to retrieve Peter’s beloved jacket? With a whole host of woodland creatures (and talking vegetables) to meet along the way, you will have to join us to find out, in this family classic reimagined for every generation!

With the returning team of Olivier Award winning Composer Lyricist Darren Clark and prolific Hazlitt Productions Director Jenny Clark, along with a cast of professional and community actors, this production offers a unique spin on the beloved classic tales.

So expect the characters and stories you love with a modern twist to engage all ages and bring families and communities together this summer. Grab your picnic basket and a blanket and join us for an afternoon of fun and laughter.
