What do The Friends do?
Over the years The Friends of The Playhouse have raised funds that have contributed to providing equipment such as; new hearing aids, a piano, lighting and sound equipment, stage curtains and more. They also support wider fundraising projects like the provision of the stair lift.
The Friends provide volunteer staff to take tickets and welcome patrons into the theatre, assist with marketing and promotions, organise social events all year round, offer days out including theatre visits and hold weekly Saturday coffee mornings in The Playhouse bar area. To date they have raised over £400,000.

Becoming a Friend means you can do something really worthwhile for your community and have fun in the process. It's also a great opportunity to meet people and make new friends in a welcoming environment.
In return for your dedication Friends are entitled to the following -
- 15% of the full price of participating shows (maximum 2 tickets per show)
- 15% off at the theatre bar and confectionary
- Regular social events throughout the year
- Access to exclusive special offers
- A free ticket on your birthday (subject to availability)
