Join Dr Padraig Kirwan from Goldsmith University as he considers the wealth of material found in the Maidstone Museum's North American and Indigenous collection for Thanksgiving. Currently the Principal Investigator on 'Sharing Lands: Reconciliation, Recognition, & Reciprocity', Kirwan's research examines potential moments of connection Indigenous nations and non-Native communities. His work often reflects on the way in which cultural beliefs, stories and presences can be shared and interpreted in the current moment. During this talk he will consider the museums’ ethnographic collection, its long history, and more.
