The Comedy Network

Get ready to laugh out loud with an evening of great comedy as Avalon presents The Comedy Network. Avalon presents the biggest stars of tomorrow … today! July’s line-up includes the warm and witty Steve Day, the widely acclaimed Bella Hull and the dark, silly, filthy and thoughtful Alexander Bennett.

Steve Day describes himself as Britains only deaf comedian, if there are any others he hasn't heard. Actually, there are a couple of others who have started since he wrote that joke, but it's only a joke after all.

For the past eleven years Steve has been performing to huge laughter around the country and abroad, well they tell him the laughter was huge to humour him, he doesn't know either way.

Married with five children, a fact nothing to do with not being able to hear the word 'No', Steve has been described as 'warm and witty' by the Scotsman and has received many other rave reviews whilst performing shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. gave him five stars in 2007 for Deafy's Island Discs, a show The Sunday Times called Funny and Moving

Bella Hull is a London-based stand-up comedian and writer and one of the UK’s most exciting young comedians.

In 2022, Bella brought her debut hour, Babycakes, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and subsequently to London’s Soho Theatre to wide acclaim. She regularly plays to sell-out crowds across the UK and her TV appearances include BBC’s Stand Up for Live Comedy, ITV’s The Stand Up Sketch Show and Comedy Central Live. She also co-hosts the Last Night Ever podcast with Jacob Hawley.

As a writer, Bella is working on a script commission with the BBC and her writing has been featured on BBC Radio 4’s Newsjack, Flux Magazine and she is the advice columnist for Quadra magazine.

Alexander Bennett’s comedy has been variously described as dark, silly, filthy and thoughtful. He is the co-host, along with comedian Andy Barr, and creator of the high-concept Chortle award nominated podcast Born Yesterday, which has had guests including Jordan Gray, Phil Wang and Lorna Rose Treen.

His 2023 show I Can't Stand The Man, Myself received several 5 and 4 star reviews, was shortlisted for the Amused Moose Comedy Award and a joke from it appeared in the Telegraph's Top 10 Funniest Jokes of the Edinburgh Fringe. It will be performed at London's prestigious Soho Theatre in April 2024. The show he directed in 2023, Siân Docksey's Pole Yourself Together! also received 5 star reviews and will transfer to the Soho Theatre.

He created the cult hit gameshow Hell To Play, has collaborated with Mark Watson, was nominated at the Leicester Comedy Awards as part of Consignia and co-orchestrated a huge charity event at the Pleasance Grand in Edinburgh.
