Simply Dan - A Tribute to Steely Dan

ABOUT

Simply Dan are an eleven piece line up of experienced musicians, who have performed with a diverse mix of artists nationally and worldwide. They are united in their love of the music of Steely Dan - faithfully harnessing the jazz, pop and R&B influences of the now legendary Walter Becker and Donald Fagen sound. Playing a selection of hits picked from the iconic 70s albums such as Can't buy a Thrill, Pretzel Logic, The Royal Scam, Aja, and Gaucho, there are tunes for everyone to enjoy.

Simply Dan are an 11 piece band that focus on the harmonies and intricate rhythms of Donald Fagen and his band. This includes a 4 piece horn section along with two soulful backing vocalists, they add to the already rich harmonies and sound.

This Steely Dan tribute band aim to do justice to one of the world’s most interesting and challenging groups ever recorded.

Selecting from the entire back catalogue of songs from the early days with Walter Becker through to later influences of Larry Carlton and Steve Gadd, Simply Dan aim to thrill you with an accurate and authentic rendition of their classics!

Simply Dan are a Steely Dan tribute band, created by like-minded musicians who wanted to authentically present the kaleidoscopic sounds of Steely Dan.

With many of their members working as session musicians in London and the south east and performing with a diverse mix of artists nationally and worldwide, Simply Dan are an incredible band who faithfully capture the sound of Steely Dan. The band was started in late 2016 when members Mark Roadnight, Mark Claydon and Roger Evan decided to work on a band that that could deliver the beauty and virtuosity of Steely Dan while still portraying the fun of a stage show. The band members have performed with such diverse artists as current major vocalist Raye to Graeme Clark (wetwetwet), Tony Christie, Pee Wee Ellis, Marcella Detroit and Liberty X just to name a few
