Workshops
Ukelele Saturday 11am-12noon
Mark Orchin demonstrates and teaches you the basics of this increasingly popular stringed instrument. Mark runs a course at The Hawth on Saturday mornings for beginners, intermediate and advanced players which has proven very successful and this starts again on 12 September. This is a chance to bring your ukulele along to the workshop and see how you can improve and develop your playing.
Blues Guitar Saturday 1pm-3pm
if you can play E, A and B7 on your acoustic guitar, bring it along to this free workshop and play your first blues. Music teacher, Con O'Neill will teach you the riff from Bo Diddley’s ‘I’m a Man’, and introduce 12-bar blues and the minor pentatonic scale. Come and play your first blues guitar solo!
Harmonica Saturday 4pm-6pm
Bring your own harmonica to this free introductory workshop with Con O'Neill and learn the very basics of single-note playing and blues improvisation. Participants will need to bring a 10-hole (diatonic) harmonica in C (or buy one on the day for £27.50).
