Who are the Friends of the Playhouse?
Formed in 1991, we are a voluntary organisation made up of around 750 friendly, like-minded people whose aim is to support the Playhouse Theatre in all sorts of ways.
What do we do?
Over the years we have raised funds which have contributed to providing things like new hearing aids, a piano, lighting and sound equipment, and stage curtains. We also help to support wider fundraising projects such as the provision of a stair lift. We do this in a number of ways: provide volunteer staff to take tickets, sell programmes and welcome patrons into the theatre assist with marketing and promotions, organise social events all year round, offer days out including theatre visits and hold coffee mornings most Saturdays in the Playhouse.
Benefits of joining?
